This is the crucial question that comes to my mind very often from my schooling. Do we decide our parents or parents gave us life? Is this universe is ruled by laws(certain) or chance? Does soul have death? Does Newton's third law (for every action there will be equal and opposite reaction) hold good for life? All the this question are interelated with each other when we try to understand about the concept of re-birth.
One fine evening when i went to beach i saw a poor little boy whose is vending ballon and other rich little boy getting it, it really disturbs me, why this disparity in economical status of these two boys? How mere birth made one rich and other poor? We can say that this disparity is by chance, but if entire universe is operated by certain laws then how could it be by chance. To through more light on this, if some one ask what is the time taken for earth to revolve sun? Then we would immediately say 365.25, we wouldn't say may 365 or 360, because every thing in the universe is operating under certain law, if so then living things in the universe would also follow certain law and ofcourse chance would not be right answer for above mentioned disparity.
If someone do bodily or wordily harm to other, will he be punished for the same, of course he should be, because as Newton said 'For every action there will be equal and opposite reaction', if it would holds good for every object then it should also be true for above case. So when would this happen, same birth or in rebirth? May be in same birth or re-birth says Karma Theory. If it in re-birth then soul would not have death. If soul doesn't have death then it should choose particular body and family in re-birth according to its past karma. So the statement parent gave us life becomes absurd. This is my present understanding of re-birth but i have long way to go for complete understanding. So i will keep on writing on this as i came know to more, so please keep reading. I think the SOCIETY plays a major role for this disparity.. Everyone is born alike. Its that where they grow and how they are bought up makes this disparity. Think, if the society is equally built up from basis??
--As per theories or as generally people say, the human origin from Adam or Eve. As per this belief, from a single individual the origin has started and almost the occupied the whole earth.
--As per science, the development originated from monkey. It's not just one monkey which has given rise to the population today.
However it may be the case,
the migration, environmental factor and so many other factors contribute for the development of an individual. So according to the diverse exposure of everyone they tend to grow upon and develop themselves. Some think more to do well and some doesn't even bother to think. Based on the development and individual's thinking today we have so many automations up today. Even Bill gates or any big man today, has come up from a small or no background or so called richness. It's in their ability and to see things in a different manner has made their life. Here am talking in context with poor and rich disparity and societal role.Bottom line is anyone can be rich or anyone can be poor, it depends how every individual thinks and make the thinking in to reality. "Not every one thinks, not everyone makes it though thinks and whenever it happens in the same soul at the same point, you can see success in them". So whenever this get together this poor and rich disparity can be equal. In context with FATE, I can't say any opinion. My speculations are just by practical thinking about the situation.
Soul doesn't die but at the same time, it doesn't need to take the same morph in re-birth. There are so many books about this re-birth. Some are practical observation and some are theories! I don't know exactly the books name but my grandfather has some of these books and have read many of these things and researched on it I guess.
You are thinking about the set universe which has come up today seem to be planned and organized. For this state, as we all see now, we don't know how much years it took for this set up. Some people see this planned set up and some see this as a organized chaos(seemingly organized but when you literally poke in to it, you might find the reality in it. eg. the PCB in a computer.)
Similar way is the evolution of the Human. See from the origin of life. Today man seem to be the most complex organism in this earth. I am not quite sure if anything else would be?
Whatever, if am not wrong, the concept you are trying to understand is not just made in a day. It's probably a trillion years, tri-billion years.

This is true to certain extent, but not always. Who is the reason for disparity in society? Ok lets take very good developed countries where social imbalance is very less, even there will everyones achievement is same, of course not. In a school even if teacher teaches same thing for everyone, each one observation and in take will be different. So what i think is even if society is par for everyone, this disparity will occur but may not be to extent what we see in india.

Thanks again sathya for your comments, as you said rightly Some think more to do well and some doesn't even bother to think but why this happens, you are saying due to environmental factor, i would say this is pre-planned.
As you said the person who hard work wins of course you are right? But one think to hard work and other not? Even in same family one may do hard work and succeed and other may not be, dispite in same environment.
What i personally feel is we are arrested by western thoughts, Indian way of life is very different. Indian way of life is spirutual, as we go back to past indians are masters in reading universe, they predicted the planetary motion without any scientific tool, it purely by power of meditation and yoga. Since western way of life is different and they ruled the world, we also transisted to their way of life. Western approach is scientific which everyone can learn (as we learn engineering,medical etc) but the it took long time to understand the universe with this scientific tool but other hand indian way of understanding universe is by way spirutual in which one have involve himself and cannot be explained as theory. So the bottom line is As we go by science, we will take long time to understand universe but we can make everyone understand but in contrast if we go by power of yoga we can understand universe quickly but cannot be explained. But one way it is always better to say that 'Hardwork always wins' rather than thinking of Fate, but it not wholey true.

I would say the universe is planned always, it took so long time for us to understand. Today we are finding the lot of scientific reason for everything even if you dont it is true always (Ex: Why drop of rain is spherical? It is due to surface tension, is what answer we got after engineering revolution. But this true even when we dont know engineering, only thing is everyone now know the physics behind this. Similarly this universe is planned but we not able to prove it with science,will we prove it one day or not, this is true)
